Why Kim Kardashian Reportedly Insisted Ye Pay Her Child Support

After finalizing their divorce.

Kim Kardashian is one of the wealthiest women in America and while she’s financially well off, she reportedly felt it was crucial her ex Ye aka Kanye West pay her child support to prove he is “serious about co-parenting” their four children, according to The Sun.

The former couple, who share North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm West, have had a rocky relationship this year. They finally finalized their divorce last month, with the rapper having to pay the reality star $200,000 USD in child support in addition to covering half the expenses for their children’s security and education.

A source told the outlet that “Kim wanted Kanye to pay an amount that showed she was serious about them co-parenting and that he would notice coming out of his bank account every month. It’s the only thing she can control about their relationship right now.”

The insider continued, “She doesn’t need the money, so she’s going to put it aside for the kids. Same with Kanye’s bachelor pad next door to her house — she doesn’t need it, but she doesn’t want him living there.”

In addition to child support and covering half expenses, the settlement also grants Kardashian the $4.5 million USD nearby home Ye had purchased late last year.

Stay tuned for more updates on Kardashian and West.
