'Wednesday' Is the Second Most Popular English-Language Series in Netflix History

The series crossed one billion hours viewed, in just three weeks.

Wednesday appears to be the gift that keeps on giving and it’s clear that the show’s success is not about to slow down.

New data from Netflix just revealed that the series has crossed 1 billion hours viewed in its first three weeks. As a result, it’s become the second most popular English-language series in Netflix history, which is a pretty big deal. The show joins the likes of Monster: Dahmer, which crossed the 1 billion hour threshold earlier this month, alongside Squid Game and series 4 of Stranger Things.

Since the series released on November 23, lead actor Jenna Ortega also gained 10 million followers on Instagram, and the show’s influential makeup looks, fashion inspiration and music have resulted in a goth grunge resurgence.

The most significant though, is the now TikTok-viral dance which has since been recreated by everyone from North West and Kim Kardashian to Lady Gaga.

While you’re here, check out our interview with Wednesday’s costume designer, Colleen Atwood.
