It’s no secret that bob haircuts are having a moment right now. With top celebrities shedding their winter tresses, this short hairstyle is bound to be on the essential chops this spring.
As Coco Chanel once said, “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.” A haircut can switch up your whole mood and style once you hear the first snip of the shears. Having ultimate confidence, Serena and Venus Williams, Ciara, and Gabrielle Union are on to something with their recent chops. A new shoulder-grazing bob is certainly a confidence booster.
Serena and Venus first showed off their haircuts during Paris Fashion Week, which looked different for the athletes who typically wear longer hairstyles. Serena opted for a sleek and straight style with a simple middle part, an almost honey blonde hue and dark roots, while sister Venus went with a blunt-cut bob in jet black, falling right around the nape of the neck. Additionally, Venus has blunt bangs that just cover her eyebrows.
Earlier this month, Ciara also took to the streets with a slick bob, signaling the rollout of the trend. The singer exuded confidence stepping out for the Billboard Women in Music event with dark roots and honey brown highlights.
No stranger to this look, Union recently gave the bob haircut a twist. When I think of bobs, I think of a sleek, bone-straight, middle-part, shoulder- or neck-length style, but Union-Wade gave us an edgy, asymmetrical look, crafted by hairstylist Larry Sims.
