Doja Cat Stops Concert To Help Struggling Fan
The singer is just one of the latest stars to put fan safety first.
Doja Cat cares about her fans as the “Say So” singer is the latest musician to stop a concert to help a fan in need. While performing her set at Lollapalooza in Argentina, the singer noticed a fan was in distress and stopped for a full five minutes to make sure they were okay.
In video footage captured by a fan, Doja Cat can be heard telling her team to stop the music, saying, “Yo. Cut it! Somebody needs help over there. Is that right? Am I right? Somebody needs help?” After those near the struggling fan confirmed something was awry, Doja informed the crowd that fan safety is her number one priority, saying, “we can’t have that happening.” Doja even asked those close to the situation to let her know when everyone was safe, continuing, “guys over there in that circle that just signaled to me” to wave to her “when everything’s ok.”
“Just do that, ok? Just wave. If it’s not ok, then don’t do anything, but once it’s ok, just do something with your hands like this,” she said. Doja Cat let the entire audience know that she couldn’t continue performing if things aren’t good” and while “it’s nobody’s fault” when “this stuff happens,” the sheer size of concert crowds can cause distress. Doja Cat points out that “there’s a lot of people and people get crushed. It’s a lot. If you could see the point of view that I’m seeing it from, it’s a lot of people. Don’t get sad or upset. I’ll be back. I will. I promise.”
As soon as the fan was confirmed to be in a good state, Doja Cat kept the show going, breaking out into her hit single,”Say So.” She’s not the only one to put fan safety first as Billie Eilish also stopped a concert to help a fan in need.
