Sarah Andelman x Vault by Vans Celebrate International Women's Day With New Collab
Featuring the works of global artists Fumiko Imano, Soko, Sindiso Khumalo and Julia Chiang.
Sarah Andelman is releasing an exclusive capsule with Vault by Vans to celebrate International Women’s Day. For this initiative, she hand-picked four artists — Fumiko Imano, SoKo, Sindiso Khumalo and Julia Chiang — to lend their artistic vision to an ensemble of garments and footwear silhouettes.
“I have always been a Vans lover,” Andelman shared in a press release. “For this Vault by Vans collection, I immediately thought of these four creative women I met in different contexts, but they all share a passion for what they do. I hope their collections reflect their philosophies and will be appreciated by women of all ages,” she added.
Chiang, a Brooklyn-based artist, celebrated imperfection through the Authentic LX for adults and kids. The silhouette features one of her paintings atop a washed denim upper, which is offset by yellow jazz stripes and laces. A bucket hat and watercolor-inspired graphic tee accompany the pair. Meanwhile, Imano’s inspiration stems from her “Somehow Somewhere Sometimes at Some Place for Some Reason” solo exhibition, which served as the catalyst for the revamped OG Sk8-Hi LX and matching Sk8-Hi Reissue. Iconic side strips and laces adorn the exhibition’s moniker, whereas her signature print encapsulates the upper half of the yellow canvas.
Uplifting women of color, Sindiso Khumalo showcases her African heritage through her work. Her mother serves as the muse for this collection’s OG Style 24 NTC LX and Classic Slip-On variations. SoKo rounds off the range with her cat-inspired Old Skool V Platform, which is complemented by a bucket hat and long-sleeved tee boasting retro-futuristic graphics.
