Entering 3D Designer Davina India's Fantasy World
Get inspired by the designer who is disrupting the fashion industry, from a digital lens.
Davina India, the Germany-based 3D designer who proudly ignores the norms of the fashion world, recently launched her green thigh-high heels that her fans are wishing they could cop.
The allure of India’s work is that she can create designs that make you want to tap into her world — even though they’re not tangible. Unlike other 3D designers, she doesn’t sell, manufacture or mint her work.
The green heels recently showcased on her Instagram combine her favorite elements that she shared in an interview with Visual Atelier 8: “Shiny chrome and glass materials, fine shapes and form combinations you couldn’t wear in real life.”
Case and point, these heels are thin in form and could not actually support the body if they were worn. But where functionality is a focus for some, India’s work focuses on making the impossible, possible. “The 3D world gives me the opportunity to suspend the laws of physics and create forms that wouldn’t be feasible in fashion in real life,” she shared.
She takes pride in the perspective she’s leaning into. In fact, her lack of dependence on fashion norms, such as creating drops every season and making designs wearable, makes her work more enjoyable. “I would like to take the people who come across my designs into a magical world of futuristic couture,” she told the publication. “I want to contribute and [to] be a part of driving fashion in a forward-looking direction.”
