Tish Cyrus Files For Divorce From Billy Ray Cyrus
The couple has been married for 28 years.
Hearts are certainly aching as Tish Cyrus, mother to iconic singer and former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus, has filed for divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus. After 28 years of marriage, Cyrus cites “irreconcilable differences” as the catalyst to their breakup. The former couple have reportedly not lived together for nearly two years.
The “Old Town Road” singer initially moved to split in 2010, while Tish filed for divorce in 2013. In a past statement to US Weekly, Cyrus shared that they “both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together. We both went into couples therapy, something we haven’t done in 22 years of being together, and it’s brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways.” Revealing the stressful effects of being in the spotlight, Cyrus continued, “Tish also said marriage can be really hard especially after 22 years of being in entertainment. We’ve had rough times but we both realized we didn’t want to be another statistic and wanted to make it work.”
Cyrus has not made a recent statement regarding the present divorce filing.
