ORIGINAL STORY (May 2, 2022): Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for Don’t Worry Darling, starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, and it’s full of surprises.
The teaser for the psychological thriller shows Styles in a whole new light, further showcasing his talent as an actor. Though Pugh is the main character in the movie, Don’t Worry Darling marks Styles’ first lead acting role. Previously, Styles had a small role in Dunkirk (2017). He’s also starring in the upcoming queer romance film My Policeman.
Styles plays Jack who is married to Alice (Pugh). The film takes place in an experimental utopian community. As seen in the trailer, Alice’s life begins to change once she begins to question what her husband really does for a living.
The official synopsis is as follows: “Alice and Jack are lucky to be living in Victory, the experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families. Life is perfect, with every resident’s needs met by the company. All they ask in return is unquestioning commitment to the Victory cause. But when cracks in their idyllic life begin to appear, exposing flashes of something much more sinister lurking beneath the attractive façade, Alice can’t help questioning what they’re doing in Victory, and why. Just how much is Alice willing to lose to expose what’s really going on in paradise?”
Also starring in Don’t Worry Darling are Chris Pine, Nick Kroll, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, Sydney Chandler and Olivia Wilde, who also directed the film.
