Ripley's Believe It or Not! Surprises Kim Kardashian With a Lock of Marilyn Monroe's Actual Hair
“I’m literally going to do some crazy voodoo,” she jokes.
Kim Kardashian was presented with Marilyn Monroe‘s hair by Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!, and naturally, she couldn’t help but fangirl.
“Oh, my God, I’m literally going to do some crazy voodoo s–t [to] channel her,” Kardashian said when receiving the surprise in a box. “This is so special to me — thank you so much, this is so cool. Wow, this is sleeping with me every night.”
The gesture came during Kardashian’s Met Gala dress fitting; she donned the exact Jean Louis gown Monroe wore in 1962 when singing “Happy Birthday” to John F. Kennedy. Kardashian wore the iconic dress that contained 2,500 hand-stitched crystals for her major entrance at The Met before changing into a replica of the gown.
According to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’s official Instagram, “they also filled her Met Gala dressing room with a trove of Marilyn Monroe and JFK memorabilia to help inspire her look.”
When first trying on Monroe’s gown, Kardashian revealed she didn’t fit into it, so she went on a strict diet and lost 16 pounds in three weeks.
