There's Now a Masturbation Hotline for This Underrepresented Group

Masturbation is a form of self-love that’s garnered so much support, the sex industry has created an entire holiday to ensure you never forget its importance. But according to a 2021 global study conducted by Arcwave, 47% of men never talk about the beauty of masturbation. Thankfully, Arcwave is taking matters into its own hands and has created a masturbation advice hotline for penis owners.
Johanna Rief, the head of sexual empowerment at Arcwave shared that “the conversation around health and wellness benefits of masturbation in the last decade has been led by the female empowerment movement.” As a result, women were able to openly discuss and enjoy the pleasures of masturbation during stressful moments like the pandemic and every day life. If you spent any time on social media during the pandemic, you probably noticed a rise in vibrator endorsements and masturbation discussions. But where were men in these conversations?
Sexologist Sara Tang expressed a similar concern: “With the stress of the pandemic, social situation and heavy workloads, studies show that mental health levels in Hong Kong are suffering and men are typically affected more than women.” This is why Arcwave is leading a new movement that prioritizes the pleasure of penis owners.
Rief went on to explain that “opening up this new line of communication with the male gender identity can help them develop a similar masturbation mindset that gives more relevancy to healthy and wellness-driven, but still fun routines.”
