Byredo Designs Paint Tube-Inspired Packaging for Its Scented Hand Creams
Featuring the brand’s signature scents: “Mojave Ghost,” “Rose Of No Man’s Land” and “Bal D’Afrique.”
Byredo has given its signature 30ml scented hand creams a new look for 2022.
A nod to an artist’s paint tube, the product’s new packaging features a dripping paint design in green, orange and yellow for “Mojave Ghost,” “Rose Of No Man’s Land” and “Bal D’Afrique,” respectively. “Mojave Ghost” boasts delicate magnolia and powdery violet notes layered on top of ambrette and cedarwood. Meanwhile, “Rose Of No Man’s Land” comes with top notes of pink pepper and Turkish rose petals with a base of papyrus and white amber angles. Rounding off the range is “Bal D’Afrique,” which is one of Ben Gorham‘s — Byredo’s founder and creative director — earliest fragrances.
“I was obsessed with the translation of memories into scent but felt confident at the same time to include an imaginary component,” Gorham shared in a press release. “For over a decade, my father lived and traveled in Africa. I would read his diaries; the way he traveled on freight ships, met all kinds of different people… For me, this was the fantasy of arriving there through somebody else’s words.”
Priced at $44 USD each, the hand creams are now available to shop via Byredo’s website.
