Netflix Officially Greenlights 'Squid Game' Season 2

Fans can expect the return of Gi-hun, the Front Man and more.

Netflix has just confirmed that Squid Game Season 2 is in the works.

“On your marks. Get set. Greenlight. Squid Game continues,” the streaming giant said in its Instagram caption. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk took 12 years to bring the show to life, yet it only took 12 days for it to become a global phenomenon.

According to Netflix’s post, Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun will return to reprise their roles as Gi-hun and the Front Man, respectively. ”The man in the suit with ddakji (Gong Yoo) might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s (the giant killer doll) boyfriend, Cheol-su,” Dong-hyuk revealed.

More details have yet to be announced. Be sure to watch this space for more updates on Squid Game Season 2.
