Elton John Shares a Snippet of His Anticipated Britney Spears Collab, "Hold Me Closer"
The “Tiny Dancer” remake will be out soon.
Elton John took to social media to share a preview of his highly anticipated Britney Spears collab, “Hold Me Closer.”
In the clip John released, he’s playing the song to a crowd as he sings along. The track starts out with Spears singing the intro to John’s “The One” before it transitions. The British legend shouts Spears’ name throughout, further exciting the crowd.
“Hold Me Closer” is a remake of John’s iconic 1971 hit “Tiny Dancer.” However, “Hold Me Closer” is a lot more modern-sounding as it can be considered a dance-pop track.
Though it’s been a while since Spears put out new music, she’s been teasing recording some for a while. Back in December 2021, she took to Instagram to show off her vocals and tell fans the exciting news.
“No, I’m not auditioning for anything,” Spears captioned a video post at the time. “I’m reminding myself and the world of who I am!!!! Yes, I will be my own cheerleader … Why???? I’m here to remind my white ‘classy’ family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me nor will I ever forget! P.S. new song in the works … I’m gonna let you know what I mean!!!!!”
“Hold Me Closer” will drop on Friday, August 26. Check out the snippets below.
