Karol G Kicks off Her Latest Era With Her New Old-School Reggaeton Track, "Gatúbela"
The sexy music video is giving “I’m a Slave 4 U” vibes.
Karol G is back with a new track — “Gatúbela” featuring Plan B‘s Maldy. The new single is her second release of the year, following “Provenza,” which she debuted live at Coachella in April.
“Gatúbela,” which translates to Catwoman, is fiery hot, perfectly matching the singer’s new era, which she kicked off with her freshly dyed red hair. The song also provides a nostalgic feel as it’s old-school-inspired thanks to the perreo beat as well as the feature by Maldy, who is one of reggaeton’s pioneers.
In the provocative track, Karol unapologetically sings, “I’m not with anyone but I’m hooked/ I’m elevated, I feel like a Catwoman/ It feels good when he moves my panty to the side/ It feels good when you kiss me down there.”
The music video is just as sexy and almost seems inspired by Britney Spears‘ “I’m a Slave 4 U;” Karol and her dancers sweat and dance the night away in what appears to be some sort of sauna.
