The LeBron XX Celebrates James' Footwear Legacy... Plus It's Cute

The first LeBron silhouette to debut as a low-top.

As the line between performance and lifestyle silhouettes continue to blur, Nike capitalizes on the moment with LeBron James‘ twentieth signature sneaker. The low-top sports a trendy textured upper and the inaugural “Time Machine” colorway is a pastel-lovers dream.

Designed by Jason Petrie, the LeBron 20 takes elements from his previous releases including the Dunkman logo last seen on the LeBron 16 and a carbon fiber mid-foot shank reminiscent of the LeBron 5. While the 20 celebrates LeBron’s Nike lineage, the model is dedicated to the next generation of players.

“We saw the XX as a chance to celebrate the next 20 years for LeBron,” says Jason Petrie, Senior Footwear Designer for Men’s Basketball and lead designer of the LeBron line. “The stitched tag inside the tongue says, ‘Designed and Engineered to the Exact Specifications of the Next Generation.’ We took that line seriously as we designed the shoe. We had players like LeBron’s sons Bronny and Bryce in mind. We wanted to get in their heads and learn about what young players were looking for.”

The Nike LeBron XX “Time Machine” colorway drops in adult and kids sizes September 29 with additional colorways dropping throughout the Holiday 2022 season.
