Doja Cat Files Police Report Against Chat Room Death Threat
They’re messing with the wrong one.
Doja Cat is not one to be played with and the multi-hyphenate creative proves it as she is filing a police report after someone threatened her life in a chat room.
On Thursday, December 29, the “Kiss Me More” singer hosted a private chat room for fans, according to TMZ. An anonymous man started behaving strangely when Doja Cat decided to eject the user from the online meet-up. Apparently dealing with rejected male syndrome, the user, who reportedly lives outside of California, returned to the chat room and saying that he would “see Doja Cat soon” and kill her.
The Grammy award-winning artist stood her ground and filed a police report on Friday, December 30. A representative for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the legal action and shared with XXL Magazine, that “is still an active investigation.”
This isn’t the musician’s first odd encounter with chat rooms as Doja Cat has previously denied accusations of associating with white supremacists and using racial slurs within online forums. Apologizing in a now-deleted Instagram post, the Los Angeles native wrote, “I’ve used public chat rooms to socialize since I was a child. I shouldn’t have been on some of those chat room sites, but I personally have never been involved in any racist conversations. I’m sorry to anyone I offended.”
Accusations aside, we’re hoping people stop threatening women of color and this man is put behind bars.
