G-Dragon Announces Upcoming Album in Surprise Video

Kicking off 2023 right.

While he’s worked on buzzy sneaker collaborations with Nike over the past few years, G-Dragon has kept pretty quiet when it comes to music releases. While he took part in Big Bang‘s comeback single “Still Life” last year, the K-pop rapper hasn’t dropped any solo music since Coup d’Etat in 2013.

Welcoming the new year in a surprise video dedicated to his fans, the 34-year-old announced that he is preparing for a new album coming later in 2023. Mentioning that he wanted to communicate and interact with his fans more this year, the musician said, “In 2022, I took some time to work on myself, working out more and reenergizing… I haven’t had much chance to speak with you all other than social media. I want to take this opportunity to share that I will work hard in 2023.” He continued, “I’ll be returning with different kinds of activities in the new year. I’m working on a new album. I’ll be back in the new year with good news.

Watch the announcement video down below and stay tuned as we learn more about G-Dragon’s grand comeback.
