EXCLUSIVE: GALE Says Goodbye to Her Ex in Her New, Empowering Track, "Nuestra Canción"

There are multiple stages in a breakup, and GALE (pronounced GAH-leh) is cleverly addressing the final one in her new single, “Nuestra Canción,” along with an accompanying music video, which Hypebae premiered.
“Nuestra Canción” is a powerful female anthem that reminds us all that not all endings have to be sad. The Latin pop, EDM-infused track represents healing, acceptance and the celebration of that. GALE does a phenomenal job at taking a relatable feeling and turning it into an empowering moment, offering closure in a positive way.
“We all have that song that reminds us of our ex,” GALE told Hypebae. “That song that takes you back to the happy moments you shared together. My new single, ‘Nuestra Canción,’ is about letting go, about finally accepting that the relationship is over and that instead of crying alone at home, you decide to go out dancing to that song.”
For the TeoGraph-directed music video, GALE sought inspiration from Romeo + Juliet, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, as well as Madonna‘s “Like a Prayer.” The aesthetically-pleasing visuals give off a romantic energy, proving that there’s beauty in saying goodbye. The Puerto Rican singer added, “It’s very artistic, metaphoric, colorful yet dark.”
