Dua Lipa Is the First Female Artist To Have Multiple Albums Surpass 10 Billion Streams on Spotify
For both ‘Future Nostalgia’ and her self-titled album.
Dua Lipa has made Spotify history. The singer is the first female artist to have multiple albums cross 10 billion streams on Spotify.
According to Chart Data, Lipa is the only female artist to reach this achievement thanks to both her debut self-titled album, Dua Lipa, released in 2017 as well as Future Nostalgia, which dropped in 2020. At this rate, her next project could do the same.
Lipa recently shared details about her upcoming third studio album, which she’s working on. “It has a lyrical theme, more so than sonic,” she said at ESNS23 in January. “It’s still pop so I’m not getting away from that. I still want to dance and have fun, and do another crazy tour. It’s like a bit more mature in some ways.”
Last year, she opened up to The Wall Street Journal, revealing that LP3 “has its own unique sound, which is exciting and something that feels like a movement from Future Nostalgia.”
