Natasha Zinko FW23 Encourages Women to Embrace Their Inner Monster
She-hulk meets Judge Judy.
Natasha Zinko‘s Fall/Winter 2023 showcase at London Fashion Week put powerful women at the forefront of the runway while drawing inspiration from Marvel Comics.
Taking cues from the comic franchise’s notable green cousins, Bruce and Jen, Zinko seamlessly transitioned between court-appropriate tailoring and full-on Hulkish slime. Merging pencil skirts, fitted blazers and formal footwear with slashed T-shirts, comic-printed dresses and purple denim, the Ukrainian designer’s FW23 collection encouraged women to reclaim their power and embrace their inner monsters.
Utilizing 3D-printed technology alongside flowing silhouettes and exaggerated proportions, Zinko’s showcase offered a playful commentary on the concept of equality. In hues of vivid green, purple and black, the collection experimented with textures and body shapes, reimagining the superhero torso through quilting, padding and puffer-style outerwear. For Zinko, FW23 offered the opportunity to explore the many ways in which clothing can transform and enhance.
