Carhartt WIP x Awake NY Join Hands For A Friendly SS23 Collaboration

Starring Rakim and Raul Lopez.

Ushering in a season of platonic romance and friendship, Carhartt WIP and Awake NY are paying homage to their storied relationship with a Spring/Summer 2023 collection.

The curated capsule perfectly marries the iconic brands’ individual styles as timeless Carhartt silhouettes are reimagined in Awake NY’s trademark vibrant patterns and tones. The campaign stars creative titans like hip-hop legend Rakim and LUAR‘s Raul Lopez. Grounded in the New York outpost’s signature color palette of “Black,” “Dark Green,” “Blue” and “Hamilton Brown,” classic pieces like the OG Active Jacket receive a special treatment, outfitted with co-branding and Awake NY’s romantic floral motifs.

Standouts from the collection are the Hooded Sweatshirt, which features a blooming rose on the back, while the utilitarian Double Knee Pants are kissed with the recurring flower along the side. Meanwhile, the varsity-inspired Teddy Jacket unities the range, boasting bold, embroidered lettering, reading “World Champs Back 2 Back,” delivering a heavy dose of earned bravado. Faux-leather sleeves and graphic patches complete the confident outerwear item. Elsewhere, the collegiate jacquard Awake NY Cardigan adds a touch of softness, joining the Un Amor Beanie, leaving no detail behind as the hat features dual-branding and the familiar woven Square Label.

The Carhartt WIP x Awake NY SS23 collection will be available on April 6 on Carhartt WIP stores and global retailers, as well as on Carhartt WIP and Awake NY’s online stores. Take a peek at the campaign in the gallery above, shot by the legendary photographer Mario Sorrenti and styled by creative director Alastair McKimm.
