Hilary Duff Teases a 'Lizzie McGuire' Crossover on Upcoming 'How I Met Your Father' Episode
The episode we never knew we needed.
We may have not gotten the Lizzie McGuire reboot, but we might be getting the next best thing. Hilary Duff took to Instagram to share a preview of this week’s upcoming episode of How I Met Your Father, which features a throwback from Lizzie McGuire.
In the clip, Duff’s How I Met Your Father character, Sophie, is reflecting on when she was 13. Then, all of a sudden, the scene cuts to one from Lizzie McGuire, back when Duff, who played the titular role, refuses to hang up the phone on Ronnie, her first boyfriend.
In the comments, fans are speculating that maybe Ronnie, portrayed by Joe Rokicki, may be making a guest-appearance on How I Met Your Father. Others think this is some sort of soft launch announcement, implying that maybe Hulu has granted the rights to the Lizzie McGuire reboot since it didn’t work out with Disney+.
