Anne Isabella Looks To Nature for FW23 Collection
Inspired by shells and nature.
2023 LVMH semi-finalist Anne Isabella looks to nature’s most ancient forms for inspiration as the hypnotic and kaleidoscopic shape of shells and fossils drive her Fall/Winter 2023 collection forward.
Using a scanner to create her emotive prints, the Central Saint Martins graduate’s latest offering is overflowing with perfectly imperfect designs, delivering truly unique garments. Patterns and textures come out to play as flirty mini halter dresses are covered in dizzying mosaics, whereas more modest knits are painted in eye-catching and richly saturated stripes. Isabella is unafraid to mix things up as different prints and colors are paired together, mirroring nature’s inclusive harmony.
Elsewhere, a scratched acid wash motif makes a recurring appearance, adding visual intrigue. Other optical illusions arrive in the form of strategically sliced turtlenecks and feminine lace. A coy frock crafted from the fabric features cheekily placed swirls across the chest, nodding to the collection’s aesthetic undercurrent. Isabella’s signature shimmery bodysuits stand tall as lustrous gold smocked tube tops a sheen to inventively tailored skirts, flaunting cleverly dropped waists. The latest line also introduces footwear as two pairs on ’60s-esque boots appear in a faux python print, as well as a metallic cowboy shade.
