Marni Taps No Vacancy Inn for Kaleidoscopic SS23 Capsule

With a campaign inspired by the hues of Accra.

As part of Marni‘s multidisciplinary creative programme, the brand has joined forces with No Vacancy Inn — the brainchild of Tremaine Emory, Ade “Acyde” Odunlami and Brock Korsan.

Forming a joyful Spring/Summer 2023 capsule collection, the collaboration comprises menswear, womenswear, accessories and footwear. Featuring exclusive prints, fluid silhouettes and patchwork fabrics, the collection offers a range of coordinating bowling shirts and shorts, midi dresses delicately twisted at the waist and colorful hoodies.

Psychedelic prints adorn one-piece swimsuits, while baggy denim silhouettes are revived with dreamy clouds and painted palm trees. Exuding a feeling of ’70s nostalgia, crocheted bikini tops find their way into the mix, interspersed with rainbow-shaped dresses and lightweight knitwear.

Spotlighting Marni’s signature bag and accessory offering, the collection features “Venice” mini bucket bags and “Marcel” raffia bags boasting frayed rope handles and contrasting leather trims, worn alongside a selection of totes, pouch bags and beach towels which take inspiration from marine life.

Elsewhere, footwear silhouettes arrive covered in crochet, alongside leather gladiator sandals and white “Dada Bumper” sneakers. Accessories land in the form of raffia hats, Trompe L’oeil sunglasses and beach visors. Accompanying the collaboration is a vibrant campaign cultivated by Ghanaian artist Derrick Ofosu Boateng, featuring saturated Accra-inspired hues and drawing inspiration from Ghanian proverbs.

The Marni x No Vacancy Inn collaboration will be available to purchase from Marni’s Melrose Place boutique in Los Angeles alongside the brand’s website.

In other news, London-based label Ahluwalia launched its “Unison” collection.
