Onitsuka Tiger SS27 Was All Gas, No Brakes
Featuring possibly our favorite footwear yet…
Onitsuka Tiger presented its high-octane Spring/Summer 2027 collection during day two of Milan Fashion Week. Titled “ENERGY STATION,” the 47-look collection took inspiration from classic gas station locations, reimagining them as a place where people gather and replenish their energy.
Set against a backdrop of a makeshift car-wash, bodega stand and gas pump, the showcase began when two revving motorcycles zoomed past guests, immediately making this season’s show location make perfect sense. Marking a new chapter for the brand, SS27 aimed to carry Onitsuka Tiger’s “heritage forward” and “infuse it with new energy.”
Blending tailoring with sportswear, the collection paired structured shirts and fitted T-shirts with mini shorts, motorcycle-inspired miniskirts and Muay Thai-inspired wool shorts. Graphic print long-sleeves were paired with feminine ruffled skirts and lightweight dresses were embellished with silk fringing.

The star of the show was undoubtedly — as it always is — the brand’s footwear. Reimagining the Mexico 66 into a mule silhouette, the offering also featured wedge-heeled biker boots in hues of bright yellow, metallic pink and silver. Elsewhere, fisherman sandals made an appearance alongside new colorways of the Onitsuka Tiger kitten heel, seemingly inspired by racing color palettes of blue, red and silver.
Overall, the collection and its set design felt exhilarating, playful and most definitely infused with new energy.
