NewJeans Teases 'The Powerpuff Girls'-Inspired Music Video
Dropping on July 7.
NewJeans is proving they’re made of all things sugar and spice as the K-pop group teased an upcoming music video for their latest single, “ASAP.”
Paying homage to The Powerpuff Girls, they posted an adorable animation of themselves as the crime-fighting girls, donning the all too familiar, candy-colored costumes. The caption gave very little away, only sharing the release date and time of the upcoming music video — July 7 at 12 a.m. KST.
NewJeans originally hinted at the drop late last month, sharing a 38-second teaser, featuring the five girls in platinum blonde wigs and whimsical outfits, mirroring forest nymphs. The enchanting video immediately lures viewers in as members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein sing, “ASAP baby, hurry up, don’t be lazy.” ”ASAP” is one of the six total songs on their forthcoming EP, which is slated to drop on July 21.
