Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama Unveil New Fashion Book "Creating Infinity"

Including contributions from Marc Jacobs to Hans Ulrich Obrist.

World renowned artist Yayoi Kusama is continuing her collaborative partnership with Louis Vuitton, revealing a new fashion book, Creating Infinity.

Following the release of their internet-breaking collaboration, the upcoming publication details the creation of the collection, giving readers a behind-the-scenes look at the manifestation of the polka-dot covered bags and accessories. The book also celebrates Kusama’s undoubtable impact on not just art, but fashion and pop culture as a whole.

The work features contributions from industry experts, including eminent curator Hans Ulrich Obrist in dialogue with Kusama expert Akira Tatehata. Marc Jacobs joins the fold, taking us back to the beginning of Kusama’s relationship with Louis Vuitton. Meanwhile, Mika Yoshitake and Philip Larratt-Smith, who have both curated exhibitions for Kusama, reflect on her inimitable creative genius and process.

Kusama’s influence is clearly felt far and wide as a number of artists also contribute their insights to the title, among them are Arca, Katherine Bradford, Anne Imhoff, Ryan McNamara, Raúl de Nieves, Ryan Trecartin, Nora Turato and Jacolby Satterwhite. The entire work is a love letter to Kusama’s “extraordinary ability to create fantastical worlds through her renowned polka dots and mirror spheres — joyful representations of her deeply thoughtful philosophy about art and the universe.”

Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama’s Creating Infinity arrives in a fitting circular presentation box and will be released online and in stores on September 29 for €350 EUR. Take a closer look at the publication in the gallery above.
