Rising Designer Jane Wade Takes Over NYFW With Functional Femme Fashion

Making her official on-schedule debut.

Rising designer Jane Wade just made her official on-schedule New York Fashion Week debut, and it did not disappoint. After an inspiring off-calendar showcase last season, the eponymous label is back with a bang for Fall/Winter 2024, fusing utilitarian styles with contemporary corpcore and futuristic workwear elements.

Versatile, functional pieces were paired with gorp-inspired silhouettes, topping things of with another stellar Salomon collaboration. Casual feminine styles like cotton dresses and co-ords were revitalized through technical fabrics and hybrid detailing, while workwear fabrics adorned sleek suits and heavy metal transformed into delicate two-piece sets.

“This work is a huge reflection of who I am and my path,” explains the designer. “I study clothes from a modular perspective, so this season I wanted to continue pushing the envelope. I try to look at garments from a genderless perspective in addition to my womenswear category, so this collection pushes that identity,” she adds.

Take a closer look at Jane Wade FW24 above and while you’re here, check out the eye-catching looks from Area’s SS24 show.
