The New Aries x Salomon Collab Makes Hiking Cool Again

Keeping footwear fresh from the trail to the street.

Aries and Salomon have teamed up to redesign the Salomon XT-Whisper sneaker, drawing on retro running aesthetics and culture for a nostalgic drop. Arriving in two colorways, the London-based streetwear brand is on a mission to make hiking, trail runs and your wardrobe cool. Reimagining Salomons in vintage leather and suede, Aries definitely succeeded.

The sneakers come in a cherry red, pink and purple colorway, as well as a glossy, black pair. The familiar zig-zag pattern on the upper is almost embossed, with the secondary colors filling in the negative space for a beautiful clash of bold hues. Combining the aesthetics with innovation, all the tech that makes Salomon the go-to brand for trail to street living are present in this collaboration.

The campaign was shot by Rollo Jackson, framing the shoes with moonlit forests, glowing bodies of water and an intoxicating energy that can be felt through the images.

The Aries x Salomon collaboration drops worldwide on November 18 and will be available to purchase on the Aries and Salomon websites.

In other news, Marc Jacobs and Dr. Martens are reloading summer ‘16 with their new collab.
