TikTok Wants You to Look Drunk With Blush

Igari makeup, a Japanese beauty trend, consists of packing on the blush in order to get that cutesy flushed look. Also known as “drunk blush” or “hangover makeup” on the platform, Igari makeup is only the latest trend to capitalize on our obsession with blush.
Similarly to other Japanese makeup trends, Igari makeup plays on that youthful beauty aesthetic by emphasizing radiant skin and enhancing your natural features. Specifically, the trend consists of blush concentrated under the eyes and on the nose, dewy foundation, subdued eyeliner and a blurred lip — which are all impactful trends in the Asian beauty world.

To get the look, fans of the trend suggest starting out with a natural base. Next, use a brown eyeliner to draw a subtle wing and apply mascara for natural fluttery lashes or add lash clusters for added dimension. For blush, apply your favorite pink cream blush directly below your eyes and on the tip of your nose, before setting with a matching powder to maximize pigment. Although optional, most J-beauty makeup looks also include contouring the eye bags for a doll eye look. Lastly, apply a pinky gloss or lipstick and blot it out for that popsicle lip effect.
