Mowalola Just Dropped a Ksubi Collaboration and It's Pretty Major

Featuring cheetah prints, “hot shorts” and plenty of attitude.

Ksubi just announced its latest collaboration, teaming up wth the Nigerian-born, London-based designer Mowalola. The new collab blends Ksubi’s unapologetic approach to denim with Mowalola’s distinctive vision, resulting in a nine-piece collection that’s all things fierce, fearless, and, of course, fashionable.

Taking inspiration from the ever-iconic Y2K era, the collaboration favors heavy distressing, cheetah print patterns and unique silhouettes, each in keeping with the ethos of Mowa’s namesake label. A Doberman motif acts as the star of the show, alongside new Ksubi fits developed in collaboration with the designer.

Speaking about the decision to partner with Mowalola, the Ksubi team says “Mowa has this unshakable attitude and defiance, which really emanates not only through her designs but through her brand and everything she does. Partnering with her felt like a natural alliance, with no one having to compromise. Combing our denim with her designs and seeing how far it could go was really compelling.”

In terms of the creative process, the team adds, “We wanted both brands to be easily identifiable in the collection, so we started off by going through our most recognised pieces from our portfolios and seeing how they could sit next to each other. Our silhouettes came together quite naturally, so the next step was to take them all to the next level and see what they would look like through a combined Ksubi x Mowalola lens.”

Standout pieces include the new bomber jacket, “hot shorts,” and a pair of ultra-low-rise jeans inspired by a piece from Ksubi’s early 2000s archive. Each is designed with co-branded elements, including a Ksubi x Mowalola pocket tag and a leather MOWA-branded patch.

To celebrate the launch, Mowalola and Ksubi travelled to Los Angeles to shoot the campaign lensed by Jessica Mae Propper. Starring an eclectic mix of fashion fans and tastemakers, the campaign features names like Suki Baby, Skaiwater, Strawberry, Chloe Spence, Izzy Spears and Khadi.
