Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY SS26 Is All About the Process

Hosted at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios.

For his Spring/Summer 2026 LOVERBOY collection, designer Charles Jeffrey reimagines music as not just a source of inspiration, but the sole output. Hosting the presentation at London’s iconic Abbey Road studios, famed for the long line of legendary artists who have recorded there, the showcase celebrates all things process. Exploring themes of music-making and experimentation, the “Prepared Piano” collection delves into the Abbey Road archives and reimagines them through a LOVERBOY lens.

Looking at music execs in crisp tailoring, experimental musicians and their distinctive style and the scientific-like engineers, the collection takes inspiration from each of these characters and archetypes. Transforming classic producers to Gen Z bedroom pop makers, technicians into workwear pioneers and rockstars as fashion icons, the collection explores the relationship between sound and garment.

SS26 revolves around a central visual motif of “simulacra,” defined as “a copy or representation of something that may or may not have an original, or that has lost its connection to the original.” As a result, the collection offers distorted versions of classic tailoring, subversive techniques like trompé l’œil and askew silhouettes.

Showcased amidst a backdrop of a live band, the collection is presented against curled cables, lounging models and drips of coffee on musical tape machines. Transforming the space into “a performative playground,” SS26 brings together statement plaid prints, unique tailoring and classic shirting, embellished with performance and playfulness.

“Abbey Road Studios is not just music icon; it’s a cultural hub, a laboratory of dreams,” explains Jeffrey in a press release. “LOVERBOY has always aligned itself with institutions that celebrate culture, from the British Library to the V&A. Partnering with Abbey Road, a place that fosters innovation and creativity, felt like the perfect fit as I explore new dimensions in music and fashion. Our project, ‘Prepared Piano’, embodies that spirit of experimentation, blending the sound of our creative process with the iconic legacy of Abbey Road, offering a 360-degree experience of what LOVERBOY is all about,” he adds.
