'A Magazine Curated By' Taps Cecilie Bahnsen for Issue 29

Giving us a unique insight into the designer’s world.

Femininity and Danish design are two of our favorite things, and they’re also the core aspects of Cecilie Bahnsen’s cult-loved label. The designer’s latest project is a collaboration with A Magazine Curated By, offering us a unique insight into her expressive world.

Exploring the personal universe of a different designer for each issue, the 29th iteration sees Bahnsen’s unique and delicate vision translated into print. Redefining modern femininity through her Copenhagen-based brand, the designs are rooted in timelessness, created to be worn, reworn and passed down. This concept drives the issue and is a sentiment that can be felt through the pages.

Celebrating women, the issue explores relationships and perspectives through an inherently female lens. Inside, you’ll find a conversation between Carla Sozzani and Sara Maino, unpacking the importance of nurturing creativity and the relationship between a mother and daughter.

Bahnsen herself appears with her son in a heartwarming photo series that documents his first trip to Tokyo and the raw excitement of it, lensed by Fumiko Imano. Alongside this, the issue features a unique take from model Freja Beha Erichsen stepping behind the camera for a change to give us an introspective version of her POV.

Amongst this endless treasure trove, a highlight for us is a shoot of deconstructed pieces from The North Face archives created in Cecilie Bahnsen’s studio exclusively for the issue. Pia Riverola travelled high into the Himalayas to capture these pieces with a cinematic result across vast landscapes.

Endless gems and insights combine a feeling of shared experience between women, parents, sisters, lovers and friends. A Magazine Curated By 29 celebrates the beauty of the everyday, intergenerational threads and the things that shape our creativity.
