Gucci's New Shift Sneaker Blends Luxury With Lightness
Fusing ballerina-inspired soles with athletic design and Gucci’s luxurious touch.
Gucci just introduced its new Shift sneaker, first debuted on the runway at the brand’s Cruise 2026 show last year. Taking inspiration from athletic silhouettes, the new sneaker boasts an “ultralight and low to the ground” design, marking the perfect everyday shoe.
Crafted with the House’s signature web stripe (a detail rooted in equestrian aesthetics), the shoe lands in several variations to add to its versatility. The womenswear iteration blends monogram mesh fabric with soft suede and features elastic side inserts.
Designed with a flat sole reminiscent of a classic ballerina, the shoe aims to blend the “lightness of dance with the comfort of a sneaker.” The luxe design is complete with a gold Interlocking “G” charm on its laces, and lands in suede, canvas and technical fabrics.
Similarly, the men’s iteration features the same web stripe detailing across its tongue and back, along with lateral stitching and a maxi-logo detail aon the shoe’s outsole. In terms of colorways, the men’s version lands in plain leather, washed leather and classic GG canvas.
