As the week progressed, we’ve rounded up some of the biggest highlights of the season, including Collina Strada‘s “Shade” showcase, Rachel Scott’s debut runway for Proenza Schouler and Grace Ling‘s “Future Relics.”

Fan favorites like OFF-WHITE, Coach and Sandy Liang returned to the runway this season, with highlights coming courtesy of Christian Cowan, Kim Shui and of course: Luar.

Proenza Schouler

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways Rachel Scott kicked off NYFW with her debut for Proenza Schouler, after former creative directors and founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez left the brand for LOEWE. Speaking to Vogue Runway about the debut, Scott explained: “This is really a collaboration with the team: getting to know the language of the brand and silhouette and color, but then starting to inject a little bit of my point of view.” As a result, the collection featured laser-cut tops, playful silhouettes and sculpted tailoring, acting as a bridge between the old and new.

Collina Strada

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways Collina Strada‘s showcase was attended by celebrity fans like Taylor Momsen, Bella Poarch and Ella Emhoff. Titled “Shade,” the collection explored the concept of our shadow selves and the selves of others. Encouraging us to “face the darkness,” the collection was revealed in doubles, with the shadow self and our outward selves walking side by side. Delicate, pastel hues like lilac, butter yellow and green characterized our lighter selves, paired with black tulle and dark lace versions of the same look.

Grace Ling

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways Grace Ling showcased her SS26 collection, following the release of a new collaboration with Kylie Jenner’s Khy. Titled “Future Relics,” the new season offering presented a slew of modern-day “artifacts,” blending Ling’s futuristic vision with ancient crafts. Leaning into the concept of found objects, the collection utilized “biomorphic charms” like keys, padlocks and even knives as closures and details, accessorizing Ling’s minimal structures. Presenting a collection that’s both “innocent and savage at the same time,” Ling’s SS26 offered a masterclass in juxtaposition.

Theophilio

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways Theophilio‘s NYFW showcase was all about bringing the “Riddim.” Featuring fashion favorites in attendance like Haute Le mode and Jasmina.TV, the eclectic runway favored a colorful party aesthetic with loud music echoing against the cavernous warehouse space. The collection itself featured a tonne of sequins, shiny bikinis and briefs and a brand new Theophilio print, also showcased on a car which acted as the show’s set design. Elsewhere, looks were accessorized with painted and printed hairstyles along with brightly-colored body paint.

Area

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways Area‘s SS26 showcase was nothing short of a gift this season, beginning with subtly sporty silhouettes and glitzy mini-dresses before transforming into fully-fledged chaos. Denim was presented in unique new forms, wrapped askew around models’ waists, before evening gowns were presented with exaggerated detailing and off-kilter styling. Completing the collection was a series of ribbon-clad dresses and bow looks, giving us plenty of gift-wrapping inspo for the holiday season ahead.

Tyler McGillivary

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways Tyler McGillivary presented SS26 at NYFW with a collectio titled “Mermaiden.” It felt perfectly fitting then, that Sara Paxton — aka the mermaid from Aquamarine — would be found walking the runway with the very same conch shell that she spoke to her father on in the film (real ones know.) 10 points for nostalgia. The rest of the collection took inspiration from similarly-themed films like Splash and The Little Mermaid, debuting form-fitting silhouettes crafted with silver starfish, fishing nets and sea-inspired colorways.

Off-White™

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways Off-White™ returned to the schedule this season, transporting guests to the top of the New Design High School in the heart of the Lower East Side. Held atop the rooftop basketball courts, the showcase was backdropped by a graffiti mural created by a New York-based art collective, aiming to represent an NYC borough with the collection’s colorways. Blurring the lines between streetwear and luxury, the collection showcased vibrant colors, collegiate-inspired silhouettes and a preview of the upcoming New York Liberty capsule.

Calvin Klein

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways Veronica Leoni presented her sophomore collection for Calvin Klein this season, blending wardrobe staples with fashion week fun. Taking inspiration from the “morning-after attitude,” the collection acted as a tribute to cinematic American characters, featuring timeless silhouettes like trench coats, trousers and blazers with unexpected detailing like draping hairs and shredded fabric. “With my second collection I wanted to express this feeling of Calvin Klein as a way of being rather than a way of appearing, capturing its state of mind with a bold and unadorned ardor. The tension between a deep sense of intimacy and the taste for exposure finds its solution through craft and artisanship,” Leoni stated in a press release.

Luar

new york fashion week, spring summer, grace ling, collina strada, proenza schouler, women, bikinis, runways LUAR presented a Carnival-inspired celebration for SS26, blurring the boundaries between festival, fashion, art and performance. Brightly colored cobalt injected a sense of vitality and playfulness, while masquerade-inspired accessories like pom poms, masks and headpieces continued the eclectic appeal. Suits, shirts and ties were revived with unexpected details, paired with artful prints, clashing textures and plenty of drama.
