Tolu Coker Kicked Off London Fashion Week With King Charles and Little Simz
Both fashion royalty and *literal* royalty showed up for one of London’s most talented young designers.
Skepta, Little Simz and… King Charles III? Admittedly, it’s not a front row we had on our 2026 bingo card, but we’ll definitely take it. Both fashion royalty and literal royalty showed up for Tolu Coker at London Fashion Week this season, and honestly, that tells you everything you need to know about her.
Along with Simz and Skepta, names like Harris Reed, Stella McCartney, Martine Rose and Sandra Choi were in attendance for the designer’s Fall/Winter 2026 showcase. If that wasn’t enough, we failed to mention that mere minutes after King Charles arrived, the show kicked off with Little Simz emerging from the audience with a microphone, live soundtracking the show that followed.
The collection itself was titled “Surviver’s Remorse,” and explored themes of conflict, contradiction and grief, taking inspiration from Coker’s lived experience and upbringing. Questioning the concept of social mobility and the idea of “making it out,” Coker repositioned her childhood environment into a place of power and value.
“For AW26, I wanted the clothes to hold softness and protection alongside discipline and structure. It’s a wardrobe that moves between worlds, because that’s what social mobility asks of you and the pieces have to be strong enough to carry that story,” the designer shared in a press release.
Explored through structural silhouettes, traditional prints and reimagined British tartans, the collection borrows from the concept of the “Sunday Best” wardrobe, pairing contemporary millinery with vintage references.
