Indian Label Raw Mango Just Made Its London Fashion Week Debut

Exploring the significance of the garland in Indian culture.

One of our favorite things about fashion week season is the opportunity to discover new brands, whether new to us or new to the world. During London Fashion Week, Indian label Raw Mango made its London debut, exploring the significance of the floral garland in Indian culture.

The brand was founded by textile designer Sanjay Garg back in 2008, and since then has amassed an impressive reputation with its traditional techniques and approach to preserving craftsmanship. Developed in collaboration with “karigars” (or, skilled artisans) across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Varanasi, the brand’s collections reimagine heritage techniques and local history to design contemporary pieces for a modern audience.

“Raw Mango speaks to the unripe and imperfect idea of beauty; it is a part of an ongoing dialogue I have with myself, my curiosities,” explained Garg in a press release. “Our design intervention begins at the weave – or even the yarn level. Our work is a response to an internal pursuit – what excites us, what needs to be explored, what holds meaning,” he continues.

For its Fall/Winter 2026 debut, the brand presented a collection dubbed “It’s Not About the Flower,” which revolved around the design and meaning of the garland. Showcased through silk-like fabrics, assembled and rolled by hand, the collection featured sculptural tops and dresses, paired with traditional fabrics, unusual necklines and sharp tailoring.
