Simone Bellotti Just Unveiled His First Campaign For Jil Sander
Showcasing the control and freedom of his SS26 collection.
Simone Bellotti’s debut collection for Jil Sander was a study in opposites, blending control with freedom. The designer now unveiled his first campaign for the SS26 collection, showcasing a balance of grace and severity.
Photographed by Stef Mitchell, the images are a take on purism but rooted with emotion beneath the surface. Shot in the liminal space of a photography studio, a sense of calm can be felt through the shots and an elegant visual language is shaped for the brand.
Bellotti shared, “A curiosity for the body is what I am after. Posture and gesture as ways of communicating, clothes that invite you to get close, that hide and reveal.” This can be seen through the direction, with models interacting, embracing and creating a certain closeness. Gestures are the focal point and give the clothes a sense of purpose.
This friction between touch adds a level of eroticism, expressed through restraint and the charged space between what’s hidden and revealed. Both the distance and closeness of bodies are a poetic expression of softness and the quiet power of desire. Take a look at the shots above and head to the brand’s website for more.
