DedCool's Newest Perfume Is Transporting Us to the Beach

We spoke to the brand’s founder about the new “Mineral Milk” perfume.

DedCool has unveiled the newest fragrance in its cult-favorite Milk lineup: “Mineral Milk.” Made to be layered with the brand’s existing perfumes, “Mineral Milk” is a coastal take on the range’s signature skin-like musk quality. According to the brand, the scent aims to “capture the feeling of salty air, foggy cliffs and sun-warmed skin wrapped in soft cashmere.”

For Carina Chaz, founder and CEO of DedCool, “Mineral Milk” symbolizes new beginnings for the brand. “Mineral Milk is a coastal evolution of our original ‘Milk.’ Where ‘Milk’ and ‘Xtra Milk’ are very skin close, warm and musky, ‘Mineral Milk’ introduces this cool, mineral airiness that shifts the entire mood,” she tells Hypebae. “It feels expansive and misty rather than purely cozy. It is still unmistakably DedCool, still genderless and layerable, but it brings in this foggy, mineral freshness that we have never explored in the Milk family before.”

Drawing inspiration from a seaside getaway, Chaz says the perfume was born from her fond memories of early morning walks on the beach and first connecting with her husband by the sea. “I kept coming back to this image of an empty, fog covered beach with the sound of the highway faint in the distance. It feels intimate, nostalgic, and a little cinematic, which is exactly what I wanted ‘Mineral Milk’ to capture,” she says.

When it comes to its scent profile, “Mineral Milk” first opens with fruity notes of nectar and passionfruit. Next, earthy lavender, ocean air and marine salt give it a distinct freshness. Finally, the scent dries down with DedCool’s classic amber milk along with cozy Virginia cedar and Australian sandalwood.

“Mineral Milk” retails for $90 USD and is now available for purchase on the brand’s website.
