Everything We Know About the Upcoming BTS Documentary
The tell-all film reveals everything from moments of doubt to the strong brotherhood.
One of the most-streamed K-pop artists on Spotify last year, globally acclaimed boy band BTS announced its return to music at the start of 2026, and they’re returning in a big way. Not known for doing anything halfheartedly, the group not only announced a new album and a world tour, but also a live-streamed concert and a feature-length documentary.
The documentary is set to chronicle the long-awaited return of the pop royalty, offering fans unprecedented access with insights into the BTS reunion while reflecting on the life-changing journey they’ve had so far. Since debuting in 2013, the boy band has built a hugely devoted fan base globally, and after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service, the seven members are reuniting in Los Angeles to make music once again.
After time apart from each other and each experiencing their own personal growth, the band members confront questions on how to begin again, how to honor the past whilst moving forward and how to progress together with millions watching. We see moments of doubt, laughter and rediscovery as they go about creating new music which reflects who the group is now, culminating in the anticipated album.
BTS: THE RETURN is a uniquely intimate insight into one of the biggest boy bands around right now, showing a story that only BTS can tell, one of brotherhood and resilience. The film is directed by Bao Nguyen and premieres on March 27 on Netflix, so mark your calendars. For now, you can watch the official trailer on YouTube.
