Matières Fécales Brings Body Modification Nightmares to the Runway
The brand’s third Paris Fashion Week show brings us a plethora of uncanny beauty looks.
Known for its evocative takes on body horror, Matières Fécales debuted its Fall/Winter 2026 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Speaking to the show’s dystopian theme of “The One Percent,” the beauty details emphasized the dark side of luxury — with everything from the brand’s signature larger-than-life eyes to gruesome prosthetics and dollar bill eye masks.
As a satirical take on the wealthy elite, Matières Fécales leaned into its usual post-human aesthetic while also referencing a distorted take on beauty. A few models sported the black-out contacts and shaven heads the brand has become synonymous with, while others embodied the show’s critique of the rich more literally with nightmarish SFX details.
In a world seemingly overtaken by beauty tweakments and procedures, Matières Fécales’ FW26 glam highlights the coldness of post-op beauty. Harping on the irony of luxurious treatments’ affinity for grotesque outcomes — stretched out skin, bloodless complexions and red-rimmed eyes were all necessary vehicles for the collection’s repulsively chic theme.
