Miss Sixty Transforms Bella Hadid Into a Punk Marie Antoinette
This is Rococo romance with a rebellious edge.
Rococo romance meets rebellious grunge in Miss Sixty’s latest collection. Reimagining a contemporary version of Marie Antoinette, this is not the fragile queen we may think of, but a challenge to the rigidity of the era. And, of course, who better to capture this than our very own queen of fashion, Miss Bella Hadid, back again.
The collection takes the rebellious spirit of one of the first-ever fashion icons, preserving Rococo references and infusing them with a sharp, modern attitude. Signature low-waisted lines, distressed denim and accents of lace and pink leather add a flirtatious energy, while the classic Miss Sixty aesthetic grounds the opulence with a hint of rebellion. This is one for the history books.
Photographed by Gabriel Moses, Bella Hadid is captured through the photographer’s signature moody lens as a modern-day Antoinette. A Rococo wasteland makes up the backdrop, imagined with palace ruins and lingering grandeur as remnants of a royal past. Layered mattresses nod to the fable of The Princess and the Pea, while Versailles-esque chandeliers and French interiors paint the perfect picture.
Through Moses’s lens and the collection’s attitude, tradition collides with subversion to reframe the myth of the French queen through a punk edge. Marie Antoinette, you would’ve loved Miss Sixty.
