Pittanga Is the Brazilian Swimwear Label You Need To Get on Your Radar
Manufactured entirely in Rio de Janeiro and donating a percentage of proceeds to the nonprofit Favela Seeds.
We all know Brazilians do it best when it comes to swimwear, and Pittanga is one brand proving it. The label dropped a collection designed to capture the spirit of an endless Brazilian summer. Founded by Juliana Nalú, the independent label is manufactured entirely in Rio de Janeiro, drawing creative inspiration from local nature, beach culture and the founder’s love for bossa nova rhythms.
The label was born out of Nalú’s personal quest to find swimwear of high-quality, with comfortable silhouettes that outlast seasonal trends. Emphasizing premium construction, the production process faced strict quality checks, with the designer scrapping two initial production runs to ensure the final garments met her structural standards.
Named after her mother’s favorite Brazilian fruit, the brand infuses authentic local craftsmanship into each piece. Beyond the beach aesthetic, the label operates with a focus on community support. A percentage of proceeds from every garment sold goes directly to Favela Seeds, a nonprofit organization that funds educational and recreational opportunities for children and young people living in Rio’s favelas.
