Maria Grazia Chiuri Debuts Her First FENDI FW26 Campaign
Captured by Jo Ann Callis, the imagery blends cinematic storytelling with gender-fluid tailoring.
FENDI unveiled the campaign for Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut Fall/Winter 2026 collection, exploring the complexities of human connection through a cinematic visual narrative captured by photographer Jo Ann Callis.
Rather than focusing solely on the clothes, the campaign examines the emotional space between people, the push and pull of intimacy, vulnerability and distance. Inspired by the idea that we long for connection while never fully understanding another person’s inner world, the imagery unfolds through subtle gestures and carefully choreographed interactions between its subjects.
At the heart of Chiuri’s vision is the concept of a shared wardrobe, where womenswear and menswear mirror one another while maintaining their individual identities. Tailored silhouettes blur traditional gender codes, suggesting that masculinity and femininity are strengthened through contrast rather than erased. Throughout the campaign, gesture becomes just as important as the garments themselves, reflecting the emotional dialogue between each figure.
Drawing inspiration from renowned choreographer Pina Bausch, the visuals use physical proximity and restrained movement to heighten emotional tension. Rome also plays a starring role, with the city’s historic interiors, architecture and atmosphere serving as the backdrop for the dreamlike campaign.
Together, Chiuri and Callis present a thoughtful introduction to FENDI’s next chapter, where fashion becomes a vehicle for storytelling and human connection.
