Samuel Ross Reveals the Second Season of A-COLD-WALL* Womenswear
Peep the “SILICA” Spring/Summer 2019 lookbook.
A-COLD-WALL* has shared the lookbook for its Spring/Summer 2019 collection. The “SILICA” collection focuses on womenswear serving as designer’s Samuel Ross‘ second feminine range.
The brand’s technical background is transformed into wearable streetwear pieces cozy girls will love. The collection includes 180 items including leather footwear, nylon outerwear, and bags designed to be artful and eye-catching. Ross shares the thought process behind the line:
“Defined as the second collection for women, SILICA was really born of the idea of streamlining garments that confidently
translate into well-formed relationships pairing to A-COLD-WALL*s robust, technical outerwear.I want to ensure that the garments we produce are both incredibly wearable, comfortable and carrying a sense of rationale,
without sacrificing the impact of our technical story. After several dialogues with the women I spend the majority of my time with, the goal here has been to produce garments that in the fine details carry the same intricacy found throughout what you could call the ‘macro-focused’ items within each collection. What would usually bellow now whispers confidently through intelligent openings, dye cut slits, invisible pockets, 3M logos & silk grosgrain tape.‘SILICA’ focuses on the translation of intense design theory through product and material choice, into a tiered approach that stems from artisanal atelier made handbags, celebrating and noting the colossal impact of artists such as Rachel Whiteread – to short skirts with curvature – Italian dyed nylon piping, familiarising itself to the likes of the late Zaha Hadid in regards to form and signature shape.”
