Take a Look Inside MUJI's Minimalist Micro Apartments
The future of urban dwelling.
MUJI is continuing its mini spree creating a mock-up of micro apartments for China’s House Vision exhibition. The Japanese retailers has shared a line of micro huts and other sustainable house last year and this project serves as an urban follow-up.
For those who live in a major cosmopolitan like New York or Tokyo, it is clear that space is limited. Architect Go Hasegawa created a prototype that is able to fit up with four people while maintain privacy. The 1.5 story unit maximizes vertical space without compromising the design of the common area and kitchen. The sleeping sections are stored in a wooden container that is supported with steel beams. Functionality is key in the space as demonstrated by the stairs that double as comfy seating. The entertainment space also opens up to become an additional resting area for guests.
