END. x Vans' "Vertigo" Collection Is a Real-Life Optical Illusion

A rework of the classic checkerboard pattern.

Following on from Vans‘ special-edition collaboration with Disney, the iconic Californian footwear brand has teamed up with UK retailer END. on an eye-catching new capsule. Dubbed “Vertigo,” the collection comprises of the Slip-On and Old Skool sneakers in monochromatic colorways featuring a reworked version of the brand’s iconic checkerboard pattern.

Both silhouettes have the warped pattern across the upper, in the style of an optical illusion. The Slip-On features the print on the midfoot and heel with contrasting white leather panels on the side and a branded tag. The Old Skool is much the opposite, with the pattern appearing on the sidewalls, contrasted by black leather on the toe box and heel and three lace options. Both are rounded off with a crisp white midsole and that signature waffle outsole.

Take a look at both pairs above – the collection releases on December 8 at END. but you can register online now. In other news, have you seen the NASA x Vans “Space Voyager” collection?
