Those '90s Platform Buffalo Sneakers You Love Now Come in Patent Black
A slick update.
Buffalo London‘s exaggerated platform sneakers, initially made popular by the Spice Girls in the ’90s, saw a huge demand when they were re-released last year. In fact, there was a waiting list for them at London retailer Browns before they launched.
With the nineties resurgence in full swing within the fashion industry, these oversized beauties are just as popular as they were two decades ago. For those who are yet to cop, or want to add even more Buffalos to their rotation, the iconic shoe is now available with a stylish, patent black finish.
Available in two silhouettes – a low top and hi-top version – the uppers are overtaken in a glossy, dark finish. Tonal laces line the middle and the hi-top sneaker also has an additional strap across the midfoot, to ensure your kicks stay in place. A large logo patch adorns the tongue and there’s a more subtle branded patch along the lateral side. Of course the key detail on both shoes is the chunky platform sole that adds a huge, 60mm boost – they’re perfect for the ultimate ’90s homage.
You can shop both styles now at retailers like HBX – the prices range between $200 – $225 USD. Get some styling tips for the bulky kicks from the Spice Girls themselves through our illustrated series.
