Tommy Hilfiger's '90s Fly Sneaker Is Back and Better Than Ever
A nostalgic must-have by Tommy Jeans.
With the help of an all-star cast, Tommy Hilfiger has debuted its Tommy Jeans Spring 2018 capsule, lead by the ’90s Fly sneaker. The apparel range celebrates the brand’s sailing heritage with a modern streetwear twist. Sporty outerwear, chinos, jackets and jeans are color-blocked in the signature red, white and navy color palette. Singers Salma Slims and IAMDDB model the upcoming line in a bold campaign pairing the nostalgic clothing with the retro runner.
The Fly, which originally debuted in 1997, was originally made for men but due to its popularity, was adapted into an unisex shoe. The chunky sneaker is outline in the brand’s classic color trio with its iconic flag stamped on the tongue. It is closed with a center zipper that hides an extra lacing system. On the white midsole “Tommy Hilfiger” is etched out in the same hue. Bright green soles add a little surprise on the bottom.
Shoppers will be able to pick up a pair on May 9 at tommy.com. For those who can’t wait, the shoe will be available for pre-order on April 26. Take a closer look at the Fly above, and also be sure to also check out Tommy’s retro Flatform sandals that are perfect for the spring weather.
