Chanel Sets Sail with Its Nautical-Inspired Cruise 2019 Collection
The Parisian brand brought an actual ship onto the runway.
Chanel simply never disappoints when it comes to building impressive runway sets. From recreating the iconic Eiffel Tower to “launching” a life-size rocket ship, the Parisian fashion house has wowed audiences time after time with its imaginative catwalk.
For Cruise 2019, the Karl Lagerfeld-led brand did it again by bringing an actual ship to Paris‘ Grand Palais. The Chanel-branded liner “La Pausa,” which is named after Gabrielle Chanel’s summer house on the French Riviera, served as the perfect backdrop for the nautical-themed collection. A roster of models including Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Selena Forrest, Cara Taylor and Estelle Chen was styled in berets, stripey ensembles and pure white tights. Mini handbags were prominent throughout the show, hinting that the accessory trend is here to stay for the resort season.
Take a closer look at the gorgeous set below. The collection is set to hit Chanel stores come November.
